Two washouts in the area still being evaluated
Three sections of the Mission Creek Greenway are still closed after two washouts took out part of the trail.
This includes the Pinnacle Trail loop past KLO Creek Bridge, Black Bear Trail along the Creek, and part of the upper Greenway trail.
Bruce Smith of the Regional District says it’s unlikely they’ll be open in time for prime hiking season.
“(Crews) are working on it but it’s going to be a long time because there are stability issues that need to be addressed.
The rest of the Greenway is open for the public to enjoy, including Scenic Canyon Regional Park, which reopened earlier this month after being closed due to rising water levels.
