Woman rushed to hospital just before 530 am
Kelowna RCMP are investigating a shooting which sent a woman to hospital early Friday morrning (July 13).
Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says police responded to the Mission Park Inn, on Lakeshore Road, just before 5:30 am to a report of a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
He says the victim was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital and underwent emergency surgery for a gunshot wound to her leg.
An employee of the motel told AM 1150 News the woman had been shot near the pool area.
O'Donaghey says although no arrests have been made, police do not believe there is any risk to the public.
The victim's name and age have not been released.
The investigation continues.
