The 3rd annual Okanagan Dream Rally is set to go Sunday, August 26th.

The goal of the event is to provide children and youth, who're dealing with health issues, their own rally car and driver for the day – and then hit the road from downtown Kelowna to Penticton and back.

Matt August, whose family founded the rally, says an added cool 'bonus' this year will be a couple of fly-bys by a Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet.

He says the fighter jet will "fly by at 10:30 and 10:50 Sunday morning right over downtown Kelwona" – and then will be parked later at Penticton Airport for viewing.

The August Family Foundation began the Dream Rally two years ago raising a total of $327,000, so far.

Over the course of the next three years, August says they're committed to helping Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon raise $500,000 to help families receive the care they need.

The Okanagan Dream Rally website has a spectator viewing area map outlining some of the best places to catch a glimpse of the rally between Kelowna and Penticton.
