Light rain is falling this morning over some of the wildfires in the Central Interior, but is expected to become more showery, and less extensive, as it makes its way into the south through Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, smoke continues to slowly dissipate over remaining areas near the coast and this trend is expected to continue through the weekend.
However, communities downwind of wildfires will continue to experience high concentrations of fine particulate matter and poor air quality for the foreseeable future.
The forecast for Monday calls for sun and smoke with a daytime high near 22.
People with pre-existing health conditions, the elderly, infants, children and sensitive individuals are more likely to experience health effects from smoke exposure.
If you have breathing difficulties – stay inside a place that's cool and ventilated. Using an air conditioner that cools and filters air may help.
If your home isn't air-conditioned, consider going to a public place like a library, shopping mall, or recreation centre.
