Councillor Ryan Donn was suprised. He thought Council would says yes. He says we have a choice on how we develop our city. Are we going to put people in town or in the sprawl of the surrounding hills. This plan means another 8000 or so people living in the Capri Landmark area. Donn says to house people in town often means the city must provide roads and parks.
It's not known when the proposal will come before Council next. City staff will need at least a month for review so it'll be after the municipal election. The projected development cost for the Capri Landmark area is 96 million dollars over 20-30 years.
