It arrived here this past summer from another dealership in Coquitlam, and since then, dealership owner Ted Thomas says it hasn't just been sitting idle on the lot.
"We brought it up here obviously to sell it, but at the same time, with the amount of fires we were having, we just thought that, if we could help out in the community in any way, then we would," says Thomas. "So if there was a company that needed it to fight fires, then we would lend it out to them for free."
He says he's already had some people interested in taking it home.
"A lot of guys have come in without their wife, and then they have to talk to their wife," laughs Thomas. "And the wife says 'no bloody way, you're not getting a fire truck.'"
While the truck waits for a permanent owner, Thomas says he's happy to keep using it to pressure wash the other cars on the lot.
