Woman facing assault charges

33yearold man found bleeding in a home on West Bay Road

Police arrested a 30-year-old Kelowna woman this past weekend after she allegedly assaulted a man with a weapon.

Shortly after 7:30 Sunday night, West Kelowna RCMP arrived at a home on West Bay Road after they were notified of an assault in progress.

“A 33-year-old man was found bleeding from lacerations inside the home,” says RCMP Corporal Jesse O’Donaghey. “He was transported to local hospital for medical treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.”

Police say this was an isolated incident, and that both the victim and the suspect knew each other.

The woman faces potential assault-related charges, and is expected to appear in court today.

Anyone with further information on the incident is asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.
