Clients could truly be homeless soon after the New Year
Kelowna's Inn from the Cold is up against it. They have to vacate their current homeless shelter on Sutherland near the Capri mall by the end of the first week of January and they have nowhere to go.
Executive Director Jan Schulz say, "We've been looking for three and a half years now but intensively over the past six months with no success, so our backs are against the wall."
The original deadline to vacate their building was end of December but the landlord has granted a one week extension. Inn from the Cold will consider a temporary location, to get them through the winter. Schulz says unless something happens soon, their clients will be truly homeless at the coldest time of year.
