Kelowna woman faces charges in truck theft

Idling pickup stolen from Stockwell Avenue

A Kelowna woman is under arrest after a pickup truck was stolen Tuesday morning (Nov 27) from a home on Stockwell Avenue.

RCMP say at around 7:00 am – the owner started the truck and left it idling to go back inside and get a coffee, when an unknown female jumped in and drove off. 

The truck was later found abandonded on Poplar Point Drive.

Police canvassed the area – and just after 9:00 am, recieved a report the suspect had been spotted walking in the area. 

A 52-year-old woman remains in custody facing charges. 

The stolen vehicle is being examined for physical evidence by forensic identification specialists.
