40yearold man taken into custody

A police incident involving a man who'd barricaded himself inside a home in Kelowna's Mission neighbourhood ended peacefully Sunday. (Nov 25)

RCMP say the standoff began at around 9:30 am, and forced the evacuation of nearby homes in the 600 block of Cook Road.

There's no word on what may have sparked the incident – but just after 1:30 pm – a 40-year-old man exited the home and was taken into police custody.

Police haven't said if any charges will be laid.
