Building was under construction
A fire overnight Thursday in McKinley Beach, just north of Kelowna, destroyed a home under construction.
Fire officials and the RCMP have teamed up to investigate the blaze, which they say is suspicious.
At around 5:40 am, fire crews were called to the 3600 block of McKinley Beach Drive and found heavy flames and smoke coming from building.
Platoon Captain Kelly Stephens says due to wind conditions – and the intense flames – the building could not be saved.
