672 joins 236, 250, 604, 778
BC is getting a new area code.
672 begins May 4th joining the other four – 236, 250, 604 and 778.
It'll be applied only to new phone lines.
The Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission says they needed to create the new prefix because of increased demand.
A new area code allows for addition of more than 7-million new phone numbers.
