Salmon Arm man killed after offering assistance during crash.
A Salmon Arm man is dead after trying to help two other motorist deal with a minor accident.
It happened Thursday along Highway 5 near Merritt when a small car collided with northbound commercial vehicle, causing no injuries.
As the motorists were exchanging information, two vehicles approached the scene causing a chain reaction, clipping one of the drivers and passenger and killing the 47 year-old who stopped to offer assistance.
No name has been released.
The highway was closed for several hours.
