The BC River Forecast Centre has lowered the rating from level three down to level two
The Okanagan drought rating is being downgraded in response to sporadic rainfall throughout the region.
The BC River Forecast Centre has lowered the rating from level three down to level two.
"Streams that were flowing at a very low percentile earlier in the year are now flowing just about where they normally are for this time of year" said hydrologist Ashlee Jollymore.
"Mission Creek in Kelowna is one that we look at quite a bit and it's currently right at the median flow for this time of year"
While the downgrade is good news for Okanagan waterways, there is still a deficit of precipitation in the region.
"We always encourage people to conserve water especially within areas, such as the Okanagan, that are typically quite dry during the summer months"
