Heavy flames and smoke could be seen stemming from the rear of the building.
Kelowna firefighters saved a south Mission home from going up in smoke early Tuesday morning.
At around 3:00 AM, emergency crews were called to the scene of a house fire on Barnaby Road.
When firefighters arrived, heavy flames and smoke could be seen stemming from the rear of the building.
No one was home at the time, although fire crews were able to gain access to attack the blaze from inside the house.
According to the fire department, damage was limited to the garage area.
The fire is not considered suspicious. An investigation is underway to determine the cause.
