Kelowna RCMP are looking for help in identifying a suspect vehicle that allegedly failed to remain at the scene of an early morning hit and run collision involving a cyclist yesterday morning.
Kelowna RCMP are looking for help in identifying a suspect vehicle that allegedly failed to remain at the scene of an early morning hit and run collision involving a cyclist yesterday morning.
On July 27, 2019 at 7:07 a.m., emergency crews were called to the scene of a hit and run collision involving a cyclist in the 800-block of Clifton Road.
Police have learned that the cyclist had been pedalling north bound along Clifton Road, when she was struck from behind by a passing motorist.
Fire rescue personnel and BC Emergency Health Services paramedics provided medical care to the cyclist, a Kelowna woman in her 50’s, at the scene.
She was transported to hospital by BCEHS for further medical treatment. Her injuries were moderate and believed to be non-life threatening in nature.
“The preliminary investigation has revealed a possible description for the suspect vehicle that failed to stop or remain at the scene and render assistance to the injured cyclist,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, Media Relations Officer for the Kelowna RCMP. “We need the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle involved, which we believe to be a 10 to 15-year-old orange Infinity FX35 or FX45.”
“Investigators also believe that the suspect vehicle will have notable damage to the front passenger quarter panel and wheel well,” adds Cpl. O’Donaghey.
