Lesley Cormack will be taking on the leadership role this summer.
The University of BC's Okanagan campus will have new leadership come summer.
Lesley Cormack will be taking on the position of deputy vice-chancellor and principal.
"UBCO is at an amazing moment in its history that it already has done great things," Cormack said. "But I think it's also poised, along with the city of Kelowna, to grow and really prosper."
Cormack is excited to explore the Okanagan and meet its people.
She is currently finishing up her position as dean of arts at the University of Alberta.
Some things Cormack says she will focus on are experiential learning and reconciliation with Indigenous people.
