The City of Kelowna is thrilled to start construction on the new Parkinson Recreation Centre. As the construction process has begun, equipment and workers are on site, which may cause impacts on or near the site. The existing PRC remains open and accessible during construction of the new facility.
What to Expect

The Apple Bowl is open for use; however, access from Burtch Road will be restricted and the Apple Bowl parking lot off Burtch Road will be out of service.

The parking lot off Spall Road in the NE corner of Parkinson Recreation Park (closest to the tennis courts) will be maintained but slightly reduced. If you are planning to use or visit the Apple Bowl this is the recommended parking lot to use.

Angel Way pathway will remain open; however, some disruptions and occasional closures may occur.

The Basil Meikle tennis courts at Parkinson Recreation Park will be out of service. Alternative tennis court information can be found by visiting the beaches & parks map and selecting tennis courts under the choices tab.

The lacrosse box (multi-use court) at Parkinson Recreation Park will be out of service. Alternative multi-use court information can be found by visiting the beaches & parks map and selecting multi-court under the choices tab.

The cricket batting cage at Parkinson Recreation Park will be closed at the end of May. Construction of a new cricket pitch in Glenmore Recreation Park is underway, and once completed it will be operational as soon as possible to accommodate Kelowna cricket players.

The areas south of Mill Creek including the current PRC and PAC parking lot and the pickleball courts will remain open for use and unaffected at this time.
