Self-proclaimed outdoors-lover and traveller, Vanessa Mina, can’t wait to fulfill her dreams of exploring more of B.C. and beyond, thanks to her recent $675,000 Set for Life win — the game’s top prize.
The Kelowna resident was sitting at the kitchen table with her husband when she opted to scratch her ticket.
“I asked my husband how many symbols I had to match, even though I knew it was three,” she recalled. “I had to make sure… I kept repeating, ‘Is it three?’”
Mina’s husband, who was with her at the time, was even more shocked than she was over her prize.
“His mind went blank!”
Mina is going to take her time deciding on her next travel destination but knows it will be “somewhere overseas.”
Apart from travel, Mina also looks forward to purchasing a home.
On how it feels to win Set for Life’s top prize?
“It feels like a dream… surreal to this day. I still can’t believe it!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Real Canadian Superstore on Baron Road in Kelowna.
So far in 2025, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $59 million in Scratch & Win prizes.
