Wildfire recovery begins in Stephens Coyote Ridge Regional Park with salvage harvesting operations scheduled from May 13 to June 27, 2025, to remove hazardous trees from areas affected by the Grouse Complex wildfire. Currently, the park remains closed. Trail restoration in the park will follow with the goal of reopening the park this summer.
Visitors to the North Glenmore Dog Park are asked to use the south parking lot during this time. The north parking area will be closed to accommodate heavy equipment and vehicles associated with this operation. The Regional District of Central Okanagan asks that the public stay out of the closed park and observe all barricades and signs for their safety.
“Salvage harvesting at Stephens Coyote Ridge Regional Park is an important step in our wildfire recovery efforts in the park. By removing hazardous trees, we can begin to rejuvenate the park’s natural beauty and ensure it remains a safe and enjoyable space for visitors again,” says Wayne Darlington, Manager of Parks Capital Planning and Asset Management.
