Kelowna-born actress takes lead role in upcoming biopic

A Kelowna born actress is set to make waves in the leading role of an upcoming Lifetime biopic about a popular child star.

Vale Cooper will play a young Alana Thompson in the film ‘I Was Honey Boo Boo’.

The film explores the rise of Thompson, famously known as Honey Boo Boo, from child pageant star to household name.

Described as “spunky, bubbly, and professional,” Vale said she loved playing the role.

“I got to be my wild and fun self!” she shared in a media release.

Vale’s resume includes roles in popular Hallmark, Lifetime, and Paramount productions, such as Happy Face opposite Dennis Quaid, Deck the Halls on Cherry Lane, and We Need A Little Christmas.

I Was Honey Boo Boo, premiers Saturday, May 17 at 8 PM ET. It will stream the next day.
