Helicopter being used for mosquito control in Similkameen valley

The Lower Similkameen Indian band is issuing a notice of low-flying aircraft in the Similkameen Valley.

A helicopter will be working in the area to mitigate the mosquito population.

The yellow and grey A-Star aircraft (C-FSOZ) is owned by Eclipse Helicopters in Penticton and under contract from LSIB land owners.

The helicopter will have equipment attached underneath to dispense mosquito larvae control pellets.

The Lower Similkameen Indian band says anyone with concerns about the aircraft should contact their offices at 250-499-5528 or the local RCMP at 250-499-5511.
