The City is starting its annual road renewal program this month, which will resurface 14 road segments, spanning approximately 20 kilometres. This initiative is designed to extend the lifespan of roads, reduce long-term maintenance costs, and provide a smoother, safer journey for motorists and cyclists.
Approximately $4 million will be invested in pavement management, with work expected to be complete by September 30, 2025. Asphalt resurfacing is important to repair damage and improve the quality of roadways.
All paving projects are part of the annual road renewal program which manages the 1,690 kilometres of municipal roads in Kelowna. The City monitors and tests the roads regularly to identify and prioritize roads that require renewal. Regular renewal protects the infrastructure of our roads over time and prevents mass replacement at one time.
Please obey signage and traffic safety personnel as every effort will be made to minimize disruptions for road users, residents and businesses.
