A blow to manufacturing in the Okanagan as SRI Homes Kelowna announced the permanent closure of its modular home manufacturing facility in Lake Country.
The company cited challenging market conditions and rising operating costs as factors that have significantly impacted its operations, leading to the decision.
According to Darren Bassett, general manager for SRI Homes BC, the decision was difficult and delayed as long as possible to support employees, customers, and the communities served by the facility.
Operations at the facility will cease, with the exception of fulfilling previously scheduled home deliveries.
Customers with future modular home needs are directed to SRI Regent in Lethbridge, Alta. or Moduline Industries in Penticton.
