City of Vernon seeking input on OCP and Transportation Plan

The City of Vernon is inviting the community to take part in the third phase of public engagement for the Official Community Plan (OCP) and Transportation Plan (TP) – two foundational documents that will guide how Vernon grows and moves over the next 20 years.

Starting today, community members can share their feedback on land use and transportation, helping to create a vibrant, accessible Vernon that is prepared for the future.

How to get involved:

Online at www.engagevernon.ca/ocp-tp:

  • Review information as it is presented at the open house events
  • Complete the online survey from May 26 to June 30

In person:

  • Pick up a printed survey at the Community Services Building (3001 32nd Avenue)
  • Attend an Open House to learn more and provide feedback in person
    • Wednesday, June 5 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
    • Friday, June 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    • Location: Civic Memorial Park Community Classroom (3003 37th Avenue)

The OCP describes the long-term vision for the City of Vernon. It helps guide decisions about planning and land use by setting out clear goals and guidelines. The Transportation Plan looks at how people move through the city—by car, bus, bike, or foot—and where investments in roads, transit, and active transportation are most needed.

Residents who participate in the survey can be entered into a draw to win $150 in Downtown Vernon Association dollars, which can be used at a wide range of local businesses in the downtown area.
