The 2024 BCFC Champion Okanagan Sun will host the Calgary Gators from the Alberta Football League. The Gators are a senior men’s team and are the current Canadian Major Football League Champions. The Gators defeated the GTA All-Stars of the Northern Football Conference 35-0 to claim the Sid Forster Memorial Trophy.
The game will be played as a controlled scrimmage where the quarterbacks are not live and with a full compliment of special teams and referees.
Earlier in the day, the Okanagan Sun Football Club will host an “Open House” at their brand-new training facility. This will be an open house for all registered Kelowna Minor Football players and parents to view the new football specific training gym. The open house starts at 10:00 AM at the Landmark 3 building at 1632 Dickson Ave.
About the Gators: The Gators inaugural season was 1998. The club has won 5 Alberta Football League championships. They play a six-game regular season schedule beginning early June thru late July, followed by playoffs and the AFL Championship August 23rd.
