Kelowna RCMP continue to pull over drivers in road safety blitz

The Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Services Unit continue to make an impact on increased enforcement in the Kelowna area.

On Tuesday May 27, 2025 Kelowna members aggressively focused their efforts on increased traffic enforcement and were successful in their task at hand. This proactive approach demonstrated the ongoing commitment to target unsafe drivers to create safer streets for the community.

“Yesterday’s enforcement operation was a success, with 49 violation tickets issued for a range of offences including speeding, no insurance, and distracted driving. These results highlight the ongoing concerns we see on our roadways and reinforce the need for continued proactive enforcement,” says Cpl. Ryan Danilowich of the Kelowna Municipal Traffic Services.

The results of yesterdays enforcement included issuing the following violation tickets:

  • 22 tickets for speeding contrary to the posted limit,
  • 11 distracted driving related tickets for use of an electronic device while driving,
  • 1 ticket for no insurance,
  • 1 ticket for no drivers licence,
  • 14 other Motor Vehicle Act offences.

Kelowna Municipal Traffic Services remains committed to enhancing road safety and will be conducting regular enforcement actions throughout the summer. These initiatives are aimed at reinforcing safe driving behaviours and reducing risk to all road users.

The Kelowna RCMP will continue to work with our partners like the Integrated Road Safety Unit on future projects to focus on reducing these risks and keeping the public safe.
