Police have re-opened a portion of City Park after it was closed upon the discovery of a man’s body in the lake.
RCMP said around 7:45 a.m. they received a report of a body floating in the lake.
An area of the park near the dock along the north portion of the park was taped off and privacy screens were set up.
The Underwater Recovery Team was able to retrieve the man from the lake by the afternoon.
Mounties say no other details about the identity of the body will be provided at this time.
The BC Coroners’ Service has taken over the investigation to determine how the man died.
Police said there are no concerns for public safety and do not suspect the death to be criminal in nature.
