The K50498 wildfire east of Green Lake Road and not far from Okanagan Falls is now considered held according to the BC Wildfire Service.
It means the blaze is projected, based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability, to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary.
The fire was initially discovered around 2pm has stayed at a size of 0.7 hectares for the entirety of the afternoon and early evening.
BC Wildfire Services believes the fire was human caused.
The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen opened its Emergency Operations Centre as a precaution.
