May 15

Lakeshore Dr: An employee reported a known customer stole a 3-litre bottle of vodka and a pack of coolers. The customer was a regular at the store and the employee was able to provide the suspects full name. Police also viewed video footage of the incident, before attending the suspects residence where a matching man was located and arrested for theft. He was released on conditions with a future court date to speak to the allegations.

5th St SE: At 1am police attended a residence to arrest a man for an unrelated matter. A different man who was on curfew conditions, also resided at the residence. Police conducted a curfew check on the second man and found he was not present in violation of his Release Order condition. The first man that was arrested advised police the man they were looking for isn’t in there. The man was later located and arrested by police, plead guilty to the offence, and received 10 days jail.

May 22

20th St NE: At 6pm police received several 911 phone calls from an intoxicated 26-year-old man saying that if police showed up at his house it won’t be good and that he was going to f*** them up. Police showed up at the man’s house. The man lived with his parents, and his father told police he was unable to reason with his son. The 26-year-old man exited the house yelling at police that he believed he had the right to waste the police’s time. The man was arrested for being intoxicated in public, and held in cells over night. The father agreed to pick his son up in the morning.

May 23

30th St NE: At 2:30am Salmon Arm RCMP were on patrol and observed a Dodge Caravan travelling well below the speed limit. Police queried the licence plate which showed the registered owner had an expired driver’s licence. A traffic stop was conducted and alcohol was noticeably detected coming from the vehicle. The 39-year-old female driver provided two breath samples both reading fail. The driver was prohibited from driving for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

May 27

3rd St SW: At 5am Salmon Arm RCMP were on patrol and queried the licence plate of a grey Toyota Tacoma, which showed the registered owner was prohibited from driving. A traffic stop was conducted and the 41-year-old female driver was confirmed to be the registered owner, who admitted she was not supposed to be driving. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days, and the woman was served a future court date to speak the allegation.
