The community spirit was alive and well in Penticton as local residents and businesses came together in support of the Cops for Kids Jail & Bail fundraiser on May 29th at Cherry Lane Shopping
Centre. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity and good-humoured “arrests,” the event raised over $10,000—all to support children in medical, physical, or traumatic crisis in our local region.
Participants were “locked up” and challenged to raise bail through donations from friends, family, and colleagues. The event sparked laughter, camaraderie, and heartfelt generosity throughout the city as Chief Justice of Shenanigans Cary Schneiderat, handed down sentences to those brought before him in kangaroo court.
“We are incredibly grateful to the people of Penticton for stepping up to help kids in their own community,” said spokesperson Sgt. Laurie Rock. “Every dollar raised will stay right here in the region,
making a real difference for families who need it most.”
Cops for Kids extends sincere thanks to the local RCMP, community volunteers, donors, and everyone who contributed time, energy, or dollars to make this event a success.
