At 2:40 pm on June 28, Kelowna Fire Department crews responded to a 911 call. Upon arrival visible flame was coming from the roof of a two-story residential home in the 3500 block of Casorso Road. The Fire Department responded with 4 engines, 1 rescue truck and 1 command vehicle and 23 fire personnel. The first arriving crews started an exterior attack of the home. The residents of the home had evacuated safely. Fire Crews were able to knock down the fire quickly and transition to an interior attack. Most of the second floor was damaged by the fire and the residents were displaced. ESS assisted with finding the affected residents a place to stay. The cause of the fire is under investigation but is not suspicious in nature.
RCMP and EHS attended as well.
