Crêpe Delicious Urban Café has just opened at 3377 Lakeshore Road across from Gyro Beach. The franchised café is family owned and operated by Jag Sekhon and his wife, Raman and their sons Jas and Hargun, although Jas and Hargun are the main operators. Crêpe Delicious has a good variety of savory and sweet crepes, which are made fresh to order right in front of you. Four of us were treated to a savory California Chicken crepe, Chicken Caesar crepe and a Ham and Cheese Breakfast crepe. Then came the sweet crepes of the Trio (Strawberry, banana and triple Belgium chocolate) and the Strawberry Shortcake (Strawberry shortcake and custard). The crepes were all so very delicious. Along with the variety of crepes, Crêpe Delicious offers the most unique and delicious gelato. This is not just any gelato. It is layered and something I had never seen before. The gelato is made fresh, in-house with all the flavors and ingredients coming directly from Italy, along with the special equipment and display cases. At this time, there are eight specialty gelato flavors that are beautiful to look at and even more delicious to eat. From Ferrero Rocher and Strawberry Cheesecake to Birthday Cake or Salted Carmel, they have it all. Chilly or not, residents were coming in to purchase the gelato. There will be 16 specialty gelato flavors in the summer months. Crêpe Delicious also offers hot and iced coffee, smoothies, sorbets, milkshakes with vegan and fat-free options. There are now 24 locations across Canada with Kelowna being their 25th location, along with franchises in the U.S. and Internationally. Open 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. www.crepedelicious.com

Individuals that would like to date seem to be moving away from screens and dating apps and are craving that in-person connection that we started to lose touch with before COVID, which was all but eradicated during lockdown. Hailey Janes is the owner/operator of Speed Dating Kelowna. She runs warm, welcoming, community-focused events designed to help people build real, in-person connections again. While dating apps often promise connection, they rarely delivery the genuine human experience people are truly looking for. Speed Dating Kelowna’s goal is to create an accessible space where individuals can meet face-to-face, share conversations, and feel part of something bigger than themselves. They sell about 30 tickets, 15 men and 15 women per session that runs for two hours. To find out more information or to access dates, time and location, visit their Instagram or Facebook. Okanagan Manufacturing Network (OKMN) has launched to unite and strengthen local manufacturers to connect, support and celebrate the makers powering the Okanagan economy. The three co-founders of the organization are President, Alex Greer, Vice President, Christy Nikel and Board Chair, Peter Jeffrey. The new regional association has officially launched to bring together 750 manufacturers across the valley to connect local companies, share knowledge and strengthen one of the region’s most vital sectors. Until now, there has been no single platform to unite these businesses and OKMN aims to fill that gap, offering networking, educational opportunities and events that showcase the talent of Okanagan manufacturers. The launch was made possible through funding and support from the Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI BC), the COEDC and regional, public and private partners. Local manufacturers, economic development professionals and supporters are encouraged to connect with OKMN and participate in upcoming events. Headed by Todd Sanderson, CPA, CA, CEPA, CVP, Sanderson Business Services has officially changed its name to AccelERA Group, reflecting the firm’s evolution from a traditional business services provider into a specialized advisory practice built around value creation, scalability and exit readiness. The rebrand to AccelERA Group also reflects a deliberate move away from being a founder-dependent practice. The firm is now structured to deliver consistent advisory value through systems, tools, and team-based support, designed to grow beyond one individual. While the legal operating structure and commitment to clients remain unchanged, the new name signals a clear shift in mission and positioning. To support this evolution, April Dalmacio expands her position with the leadership team as Chief of Marketing, strengthening the firm’s branding, outreach and client engagement capabilities.
With construction of the Okanagan College (OC) Centre for Food Wine and Tourism progressing on-budget and on-schedule, planning is underway for an exciting new student-led restaurant and café that will open inside the facility in the fall of 2027. OC is working with Chef Ned Bell, a prominent B.C. Chef and advocate for sustainable food systems, to create a new vision and implementation plan for an eatery on the Kelowna campus that will be open to both students and the public. Culinary students will participate in restaurant operations and activities such as designing menus and preparing food. OC Chef Ruth Wigman, as well as members of the College’s Culinary and Pastry Arts department and other prominent local and provincial chefs are also engaged in the creative planning process.
