Peachland voters have chosen Ali Bani-Sadr as the community’s newest councillor in Saturday’s by-election.
According to preliminary results from the District of Peachland, Bani-Sadr secured 355 votes, placing him well ahead of the rest of the field.
George McFarlane finished second with 174 votes, followed by Eric Hall with 164.
Nick Walsh received 118 votes, while Chris Richardson rounded out the results with 54.
The by-election was held following the passing of councillor Keith Thom late last year.
These results are preliminary and must be officially declared before Bani-Sadr can be sworn in as Peachland’s newest member of council.
