The City of Kelowna says the construction timeline at Strathcona Beach Park playground has been revised due to material availability. The Strathcona Beach Park playground will be closed until 6 p.m. on Friday, April 10. Work was originally set to begin on installing steel gates and fencing around the playground.
With the delay, the City says the park will now close periodically starting Monday, April 20. The playground will be closed on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. for approximately two weeks to install the fencing. The playground will remain open during evenings and weekends.
The City says the fencing and gates are being installed to help create a safer, more supportive space for neurodivergent park users.
