The District of Peachland says the Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MOTT) has temporarily closed the intersection of Highway 97, Trepanier Bench and Desert Pines Avenue.
All traffic in Peachland is being detoured via Huston Road to access Highway 97. The intersection is expected to be reopened by Sunday, April 19.
The District says the MOTT project is expected to improve safety at the busy intersection when completed. Trepanier Bench Road will become the main point of access to the highway. A new traffic signal will be installed at the intersection. The change is expected to limit delays for highway traffic caused by motorists waiting to turn.
