The City of Kelowna says the Stewart Road West and Bedford Rod intersection, as well as portions of Bedford and Stewart Road are now closed as phase two of the Stewart Road West Road Improvement project begins. A detour route will take drivers along Dehart Road, Crawford Road and back to Stewart Road West. Detour signage will be in place for both northbound and southbound traffic.
Construction work will support road realignment, new street lighting, the addition of bike lanes, relocation of utilities and the addition of new storm infrastructure.
According to the City, businesses and wineries in the area remain open and accessible during construction.
The City says closures will remain in place until approximately August 2026.
