Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) volunteers were called out Friday evening to assist in the search for a missing man after an overturned kayak was reported on Okanagan Lake.
West Kelowna RCMP received a report of the overturned kayak at approximately 8 p.m., and a post on the COSAR Facebook page says, “First responders were on the scene within minutes and COSAR, as an emergency responder, was asked to join in.”
The search continued for several hours before members were stood down around 10:30 p.m.
The incident marks the second time in a week that COSAR volunteers have been called to assist in the search for a missing person.
AM 1150 reached out to West Kelowna RCMP for more information.
