Singh seeks another term

Kelowna City Councillor Mohini Singh has  announced  she will seek a 5th term  on Council. First elected in 2011, Singh  becomes the fourth incumbent to seek re-election joining  holdovers Maxine DeHart, Rick Webber and Gordon Lovegrove .

In announcing her election bid  Singh stated “Kelowna has changed a great deal in my time on council, and the work in front of us isn’t finished. “We need leaders who listen and bring people together to get things done. I’m running because I continue to believe that every resident deserves a strong voice at city hall, a voice that hears their concerns and works toward practical solutions.”

There will be at least four new faces in council chambers this fall as Loyal Wooldridge, Luke Stack and Charlie Hodge have chosen not run.  Ron Cannan  has given up his Councillor role to take a run  at the Mayor’s chair opposing incumbent  Tom Dyas.

Beginning Tuesday morning nomination papers  for city council and school board positions can be filed  with  the deadline being the afternoon of November 11th. The BC Civic Elections are set for October 17th .
