Kelowna RCMP investigate stabbing

Kelowna RCMP are investigating a stabbing Thursday night that left one person with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were called around 10:15 p.m. to a roadside stabbing near the intersection of Dilworth Drive and Summit Drive.

RCMP used a police dog to search for the suspect, but investigators believe the person fled on a scooter. The scooter was later recovered as evidence.

Police said investigators were initially unable to get detailed information about what happened because of the victim’s condition. As a result, RCMP said the potential risk to the public remains unknown.

Officers have canvassed nearby homes and businesses for surveillance footage as they work to identify the suspect.

Anyone with information, CCTV footage or dashcam video related to the incident is asked to contact Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
