The Kelowna Rockets took down the Penticton Vees by a score of 6-1 after a 6-1 loss to the Vees on Wednesday to end preseason action.
The first period saw Owen Folstrom open the scoring for the Rockets with a power-play goal and Drew Larioza add another to give the Rockets a 2-0 lead after the first period. The second period saw only one goal as Cole Braunshausen extended the Rockets’ lead to 3-0. The third period saw four goals in the final four minutes as Braunshausen scored his second of the game before Whitaker Rewertz got the Vees on the board and ended Josh Banini’s shutout bid with under two minutes to play. The Rockets quickly responded as Connor Pankratz and Drew Larioza scored just 30 seconds apart to seal a 6-1 victory.
The Rockets will be back in action on Sept. 19 when they open their WHL regular season in Langley for a matchup with the Vancouver Giants.
