The City of Kelowna says Burtch Road between Sutherland Avenue and Highway 97 is closed to northbound traffic for approximately two weeks as part of the Burtch Road extension project.

Work in the area will reportedly continue through the end of October. The City says construction will shift to overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Detours will be in place.

The Burtch Road extension project is an infrastructure initiative the City says is aimed at enhancing the transportation network and sanitary sewer works. The work is also said to be part of a continuous north/south corridor between Glenmore Road and K.L.O.
