West Kelowna RCMP welcome new officer in charge

The West Kelowna RCMP have announced Staff Sgt. Brendan Dolan has been named the new officer in charge of the detachment.

Dolan has been with the RCMP since 2003, when he first joined the force in Whitehorse before transferring to the B.C. Division. Dolan has experience in federal, provincial and municipal policing. Dolan led the detachment through the de-regionalization process over the past year.

Dolan says he is honoured to be named the officer in charge.

“I am honoured to be appointed as the first OIC of the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment. It has been a privilege to serve this community and work alongside the dedicated employees of the detachment. I look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships and ensuring we meet the evolving public safety needs of West Kelowna and the surrounding communities.”

Chief Supt. Shawna Baher said the RCMP is fortunate to have Dolan as the new officer in charge.

“We are excited to welcome Inspector Dolan into this role. His extensive experience, proven leadership and deep understanding of the communities served by the detachment make him exceptionally well suited to lead this organization as it continues to grow and evolve. We look forward to continuing to build on the strong partnerships between the RCMP, local governments, Indigenous communities and residents throughout the City of West Kelowna, Westbank First Nation and the District of Peachland as we work together to enhance public safety.”
