Rowan Guest named Captain of the Kelowna Rockets

The Kelowna Rockets have named Rowan Guest the 31st captain in franchise history. Guest will be supported by three alternates: Tomas Poletin, Nate Corbet, and Dawson Gerwing.

The group features all three of the Rockets’ 20-year-old players.

Guest, a 20-year-old defenceman from Saskatoon, Sask., has played 137 regular-season games over three seasons with the Rockets.

Tomas Poletin (New York Islanders, 2025 4th Round Pick) will wear an “A” in his second season in Kelowna. The 19-year-old forward from Prague, Czechia, scored 20 goals and 35 points in 43 games last season and added five points in nine playoff games. He also represented Czechia at the 2026 World Junior Championship, recording six points in seven games.

Nate Corbet returns to the leadership group for a third straight season after wearing an “A” in each of the last two years. The 20-year-old defenceman, acquired from the Medicine Hat Tigers during the 2024-25 season, has played 107 regular-season games with the Rockets.

Dawson Gerwing, acquired from the Swift Current Broncos during the 2024-25 season, rounds out the group in his third year with the club. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound forward from Meadow Lake, Sask., has six points (3G, 3A) in nine games this season.

The Rockets close out their five-game homestand on Wednesday, October 21, hosting the Portland Winterhawks at 7:05 p.m. at Prospera Place.

Fans can stream every game live and free on YouTube.
