Interior home sales slip in October, but market holds steady: realtors

Home sales across B.C.’s Interior fell in October, though the market remains relatively stable despite economic uncertainty, the Association of Interior Realtors said.

The association recorded 1,079 residential sales last month, down from 1,141 in September and down 15.2 per cent from October 2025.

New listings fell 9.8 per cent year over year to 1,986, down from 2,289 in September. Active listings totalled 8,479, a 5.1 per cent drop from a year earlier and down from 9,185 in September.

“While no real estate market is immune to the natural ebbs and flows of economic conditions, the Interior continues to demonstrate a level of stability that is encouraging when compared to some other markets across the province,” association president Ryan Mayne said.

“We’re certainly not back to normalized activity levels, and things are moving more slowly than they were earlier in the year, but given the broader economic challenges, the market is holding a fairly steady course,” he said.

In the Okanagan and Shuswap/Revelstoke regions, the benchmark price for single-family homes fell year over year in every sub-region except the North Okanagan, where it rose 1.5 per cent to $755,100, the association said.

Townhouse benchmark prices rose in every sub-region except the South Okanagan, which fell 2.4 per cent to $484,000.

Condominium benchmark prices fell in every sub-region except Shuswap/Revelstoke, which edged up 0.2 per cent to $407,000.
