City staff in West Kelowna are recommending council approve a 3% tax increase.
A report from staff says that number is in line with prior years, and is expected to be consistent over the next seven years.
Council will also be asked what to do with a $660,000 surplus, that could potentially be used to reduce the increase from 3 to 2.52%.
Other options would be to pad the city's reserves, or to give money to city projects that aren't currently funded.
A public consultation for the proposed budget will be held at the end of January, with council's final changes to come in February.
The plan would then be officially finalized at the end of the fiscal year in April.
