Kelowna set a new heat record yesterday at 37.7 degrees Celsius.
The previous record was 34.4 set in 1968.
But the above normal temperatures aren't expected to stick around as a low pressure system slowly moves away.
“Temperatures should cool down somewhat and that’s what we’re seeing from today to this weekend and first part of next week,” said Cindy Yu with Environment Canada “cooling trend with the air mass change.”
The highs for this weekend are in the low 30's with Monday seeing a high of 28 and a chance of rain.
Normal highs for this time of year are around 26 degrees.
