The final count of ballots is complete in the Westbank First Nation (WFN) 2019 election, and results include a new Chief and three new Council Members.
Christopher Derickson, who has held a seat on WFN Council since 2012, beat out incumbent Roxanne Lindley for Chief.
Chris brings a diverse educational background to his role, including an executive MBA in Aboriginal and Business Leadership from Simon Fraser University; a Juris Doctor degree from UBC-Law; and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in political science from UBC-Okanagan.
He sits on several boards including as current Chair of the Okanagan College Board of Governors, and is also the recipient of several awards including the Business in Vancouver’s ‘Forty under 40, 2017.
The four Councillors serving alongside Chris Derickson for the 2019-2022 term include returning Councillor Fernanda Alexander, plus Lorrie Hogaboam who previously served on Council during the 2010-2013 term, and new Councillors Jordan Coble and Andrea Alexander.
Council will be sworn in at an Oath of Office meeting, Tuesday September 24, 2019.
