A winter storm is hitting Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon today.
Environment Canada says a moist Pacific frontal system is bringing heavy snow to the Okanagan.
It'll continue through today with total accumulations of up to 25 cm by early Wednesday morning in Kelowna before tapering off to a few flurries. West Kelowna and Peachland could get 35 cms.
Even heavier amounts, up to 40 cms, are forecast for the Coquihalla Highway and the Okanagan Connector - heavy snow is also expected for the Allison and Kootenay Passes and Paulson Summit on Highway 3.
Yesterday - 9 people were hurt in a multi-vehicle, chain reaction crash on the Coquihalla south of Merritt which closed a section of the highway for several hours.
If you have to travel - adjust your driving with changing road conditions - or wait until later in the week before heading out.
