A woman accused of going on a car stealing spree last September pleaded not guilty on Tuesday afternoon.
30-year-old Cheri Lynne McCann was arrested on September 9th, 2017 alongside 37-year-old career criminal Jesse Shawcross of Kamloops.
Both face multiple charges of motor vehicle theft.
RCMP first received a report that day at 7:50 AM that a Volkswagen Golf had been stolen in Lake Country.
Later on, at 2:10, the owner of a Chevy pickup truck reported that the two suspects had pulled up to his driveway, assaulted him, and taken his keys and truck, leaving the stolen Golf behind.
That evening, the owner of a 2008 Lexus called the RCMP at 8:30, saying that his Lexus was no longer where he left it, and in its place was a Chevy pickup truck.
Shortly afterwards, at around 10:30 PM, RCMP responded to a report of the stolen Lexus sitting in the parking lot of the Kelowna Golf and Country Club, with its male driver and female passenger passed out.
The two were then arrested and taken into police custody.
A one day trial for McCann is set to be fixed next week, and will include four police witnesses and three civilian witnesses.
Before that happens, McCann will also need to enter a plea on additional charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
